U.S. National Weekly Rice Summary

LITTLE ROCK - Mar 26/07 - SNS -- The latest weekly rice market summary for the United States was released by the USDA today.


                       National Weekly Rice Summary
                   (Arkansas-Louisiana-Texas-California)

   Domestic shipment: Offers, fob mills, milled rice, spot prices, dollars per
cwt, bagged. (All milled rice grade No 2 not to exceed 4 percent brokens,
except California grade No 1. All second heads grade No 4 or better, second
head and brewers are bulk.)

                             Domestic Situation

   Domestic milled rice price quotes were mostly steady in the south and steady
in California. By-products were steady to lower in the south and steady in
California.

   In the south, long grain rice prices were mostly steady, instances 25 cents
lower, quoted mostly at 19.00-19.50; medium grain prices were steady, quoted
mostly at 22.00-25.00; parboiled rice prices were steady, quoted mostly from
20.00-25.00; second heads were steady to instances 25 cents lower; brewers were
steady to instances 50 cents lower. Brokens remain in very tight supply. Rice
by-products: Offers for rice bran were steady to 10.00 lower with very tight
spot supplies; millfeed was mostly steady in a very thin test and hulls were
again poorly tested with very little activity reported.

   In California, medium grain milled rice prices were steady, quoted mostly
from 25.00-26.00; short grain prices were steady; second heads were steady
quoted mostly from 17.00-17.50; brewers were steady, quoted mostly at 16.00.
Rice bran was steady; rice hulls were steady, quoted mostly at 15.00, in tight
supplies for spot sales.
