Alaron Softs CommentCHICAGO - Mar 24/08 - SNS -- Following is the orange juice, cotton and coffee comment from Alaron Trading Corp. May Cotton prices have been falling in the last 2 weeks since a contract high was made of 92.86. Prices have dropped as funds and specs have been liquidating long positions due to concerns in the equity market. However, today, prices were firmer ahead of next Monday's USDA Prospective Plantings Report. It is scheduled to be released at 7:30am CST. We should see this market trade sideways to higher through the end of the week as traders continue to square up positions ahead of the report. For the most part, the market has factored in a acreage loss of 1.5 to 1.8 million acres. However, there is talk that with the price rally we have seen this year, cotton could have regained some of the lost acres. If the planting acreage number comes in as expected or even higher than expected, we should see prices move lower. This market has a seasonal tendency to move lower from the end of March through May. Support for May is at 72.00. Resistance is at 75.00. Boyd Cruel Alaron Research Team 800.563.9510 bcruel@alaron.com DISCLAIMER: Futures and options trading involve substantial risk.
