Eastern U.S. Organic Grain and Feedstuffs

SPRINGFIELD - May 7/08 - SNS -- Bi-weekly USDA report on organic grain and feedstuffs prices in the eastern cornbelt in the United States.


Eastern Cornbelt Organic Grain & Feedstuffs Report (Bi-Weekly)
Weighted Average Report for Week Ending 5/3/2008

Compared to two weeks ago, organic grain and feedstuff prices were
steady to firm.  Trading activity was slow with light demand for
organic ingredients.  Feed grade corn and soybeans were steady.
Tight supplies helped to push soybeans and wheat prices higher.
Buyers are looking ahead to harvest time to help improve depleading
wheat supplies.  Organic field peas have been reported replacing
soybeans as an alternative protein supplement .  Trading this week
was organic spelt(cleaned)ranging from .52 cents/lb. to .62 cents/lb.
