Upper U.S. Midwest Organic Grain and Feedstuffs

DES MOINES - Nov 20/08 - SNS -- Bi-weekly USDA report on organic grain and feedstuffs prices in the U.S. upper midwest.


Upper Midwest Organic Grain & Feedstuffs Report (Bi-Weekly)
Weighted Average Report for the Week Ending      11/16/08

Organic grain and feedstuff prices were mostly lower on light demand and
moderate offerings with slow market activity, compared to two weeks ago.
The economy continues to be a major factor in the organic market.  Harvest
progress has been slow.  According to USDA NASS, corn harvest in the U.S.
is only 78 percent complete, compared to the five year average of 94
percent.  In Iowa, 70 percent of the corn harvest is complete, down from
the five year average of 95 percent.  Nebraska's corn harvest is 67
percent complete, compared to the five year average of 93 percent.  Organic
milo traded from $7.50 to $8.00 per bushel during this period.  Monthly
and third quarter average prices located below.  All prices FOB the farm
and negotiated spot market.
