DES MOINES - Apr 9/09 - SNS -- Bi-weekly USDA report on organic grain and feedstuffs prices in the U.S. upper midwest.

Weighted Average Report for the Week Ending      04/05/09

Organic grain and feedstuff prices were mostly lower on light demand and
offerings with slow market activity.  Players in the organic market
remain cautious at the direction the market is taking.  Market activity
was slightly more than a couple weeks ago but still rather stagnant.
New crop contracts are being reported.  Sales of new crop feed grade
soybeans are being reported from $16.00 to $18.00 per bushel.  New crop
food grade soybean contracts are from $19.00 to $24.00 per bushel.
It is expected that fewer organic acres will be planted this year,
compared to last year.  Monthly and fourth quarter average prices
located below.  All prices FOB the farm and negotiated spot market.
