Eastern U.S. Organic Grain and FeedstuffsSPRINGFIELD - May 6/09 - SNS -- Bi-weekly USDA report on organic grain and feedstuffs prices in the eastern cornbelt in the United States.
Eastern Cornbelt Organic Grain & Feedstuffs Report (Bi-Weekly)
Weighted Average Report for Week Ending 5/2/2009
Compared to two weeks ago, organic grain and feedstuff prices were mostly
lower. Demand was light to moderate for heavy offerings. Lack of buying
interest and the decline in feed usage helped to pressure prices lower.
Trading activity was slow with many producers inquring contracts for fall
delivery. However due to an unsteady market and heavy supplies producer
selling may be limited. March monthly and 1st quarter averages of organic
prices located below. All prices FOB the farm and negotiated spot market.
