Upper U.S. Midwest Organic Grain and Feedstuffs

DES MOINES - Oct 21/09 - SNS -- Bi-weekly USDA report on organic grain and feedstuffs prices in the U.S. upper midwest.

Upper Midwest Organic Grain & Feedstuffs Report (Bi-Weekly)
Weighted Average Report for the Week Ending 10/17/09

*NEW National Organic Grain and Feedstuffs Report October 22*

Compared to two weeks ago, organic grain and feedstuff prices were mostly
steady with very light demand and offerings. Market activity was at a
near standstill. According to USDA NASS, only 17 percent of the conventional
corn crop has been harvested, compared to the historical average of 46
percent at this time. Due to the very wet weather in the majority of the
region, organic farmers are facing late harvest. New crop prices are
scarce. Monthly and third quarter average prices are located below. All
prices FOB the farm and negotiated spot market.
