U.S. Corn Belt Feed Ingredient Review

ST. JOSEPH - May 11/04 - SNS -- The USDA issued its latest review of feed ingredient markets across the U.S. corn belt today, including coverage of pellets, distillers grains and other products.

Wholesale Bids.  Truck or Rail dollars per ton.

   Feedstuff prices were mix for the week.  Demand moderate for ingredients.
Gluten feed and hominy were pressured by lower corn futures while gluten meal
was strengthen by good exports.  Good rain in the Midwest over the weekend
helped crops and pastures bloom.

   SOYBEAN MEAL:  48 percent rail was 12.00-14.50 higher from 331.50-340.50.  48
percent truck was 10.00-11.00 higher from 328.50-338.50 per ton.
   CORN BY-PRODUCTS:  Gluten Feed 21 percent, Interior Points was steady to 4.00
lower from 72.00-91.00; Chicago was 4.00 lower to 2.00 higher from 74.00-90.00.
60 percent Gluten Meal, Interior Points was 10.00 higher from 385.00-405.00;
Chicago was steady to 5.00 higher from 390.00-400.00 per ton.  Rail Hominy Feed,
Central Illinois Points rail was steady to 2.00 lower from 90.00-95.00; truck
was 1.00-2.00 lower from 92.00-98.00.  Crude Corn Oil was 50 points at 30.50-
31.50 cents per pound.
  MILLFEEDS:  Northwest was 4.00 lower to 1.00 higher from 78.00-85.00; Buffalo
was steady to 3.00 lower from 85.00-90.00 per ton.
  DISTILLER'S DRIED GRAINS:  Central Illinois was steady from 110.00-125.00;
Chicago was steady from 120.00-128.00; Lawrenceburg, Il. was steady at 128.00;
Nebraska was steady at 145.00; Minnesota was 1.00 higher at 131.00 per ton;
Kansas was steady from 140.00-145.00.
   ALFALFA PELLETS:  Toledo, Ohio 17 percent dehydrated was steady at 162.00;
meal was steady at 167.50.  15 percent pellets were steady at 159.50 per ton;
meal was steady at 165.00.
